The Heritage Story

In many ways, our story mirrors the evolution of the log home itself.

Our company is rooted in the efforts of one man, Heritage founder and chairman Bill Parsons, an engineer who got his start in the early 1970s doing renovation work on vintage log homes in the hills of East Tennessee. Like our nation’s pioneer settlers, Bill developed a fundamental appreciation for the quality of materials and meticulous craftsmanship that went into every log, timber and plank.

Once those early renovation jobs were behind him, however, the charm and mystique of the log-home concept were strong enough to propel Bill into his own manufacturing operation, and in 1974, Heritage began crafting components for new log homes.

In the 3 1/2 decades since, log homes as a whole have matured from the traditional rustic, cabins of yesteryear to today’s homey weekend retreats and sprawling, upscale estates. Along the way, Heritage has stayed on the cutting edge of the industry, from innovative home designs to the use of the highest quality materials to our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and technology, such as the patented Thru-bolt system.

To date, we have custom-made components for more than 10,000 individual log homes across North America, South America and Europe, but we’re not content to merely keep pace with our customers’ demands. Our goal is to redefine log-home lifestyles for the growing number of people who—like us—are willing to settle for nothing less than the best.

And at Heritage Log Homes, we’re doing just that— one log at a time.
