Before we can begin custom-milling your log-home materials, our designers draw up detailed construction plans based on your home-plan selection and modifications. This is a four-step process:
- We draft preliminary plans.
- You review your preliminary plans and either approve them as designed or indicate any changes that are needed.
- Your approved preliminary plans are reviewed and a change order is generated if you have requested changes that affect the design or cost of your package.
- After receiving your approved preliminary plans and approved change order (if required) final construction plans are generated.
(Note that during the drafting phase, additional change orders extend your project’s timeline and can increase costs.)
Once your plans have been finalized, we will produce 5 sets of construction drawings from which we will mill your logs specifically for your house. These are also the drawings your builder will use.
Based on your final plans, your log-home materials are custom-made for assembly, packaged and then shipped to your home site.
