Find Building Location

If you don’t already own a piece of land, your next step is to select the lot or piece of acreage where you want to build your Heritage log home. Where you build is just as important as what you build and each can impact the other from both a cost and design standpoint. For example, it may not be cost effective to build a single story home on a steep hillside.

One important thing to keep in mind is the size and typography of your land.  The lay of the land may impact the floor plan you choose.  Some of our standard models were designed with specific land qualities in mind.  For instance some were designed with hilly terrain in mind while others were designed more specifically for flat areas.  Regardless of the home you choose, our skilled design team can modify any plan to fit comfortably into you building site.

Let us know if you need any help locating property and evaluating its suitability for your needs. Our local design center representatives are quite knowledgeable and well connected in this area. Click here to ask us about finding land.

And it’s not too early to start thinking about financing your project. You may choose to purchase only the land now, or you might consider financing your land, log-home package and construction in one transaction. In either case, we suggest that you contact one of our lending professionals at Heartwood Financial for help in determining which option suits you best. Click here for Heartwood Financial.

Another option is to consider building in a Heritage Exclusive Community. These branded residential developments feature custom-designed Heritage log homes, and are located in scenic resort locations throughout the United States. Advantages include a shared sense of aesthetics and consistency in property appreciation. Learn more about Heritage Exclusive Communities here.
